SERVICES
Initial consultation and assessment
The purpose of this is crucial in getting an accurate understanding of where the client is 'at' and what options are available to provide the most effective help.
Intervention(s)
Sometimes bringing in a new voice that may resonate with the client in a more profound way than those of family and friends, can bring about the window of opportunity to engage in recovery. The 'lived experience' of an interventionist who has 'been there, done that', will often be the first time a client has felt 'understood'. This experience can help a client explain to loved ones, exactly how they feel and why they seem unsure, or perhaps unable, of how to make that first crucial step towards recovery.
Signposting Recovery Options
Detox? Rehab? Why? Where? How long? What methodology? Costs?
I can provide answers to all these questions and more.
Transportation to and from Rehab
In my experience, getting a client to their chosen rehab can often be a hurdle best overcome with someone there to escort them from their home to their destination. Airports, train stations, and long journeys can be fraught with unwelcome distractions and triggers. I'll get them there, on time and often with a much-needed last-minute pep-talk as they enter the next chapter of their recovery journey. It can feel daunting, scary, and confusing, having someone to walk that walk with you is a massive bonus. Having the same person to bring you home or onto a second-stage sober living community is also useful.
Sober live-in companion
Some clients who may not need a medically supervised detox, may prefer to stay at home and have 'rehab' come to them. I have many years of experience in this area. Sometimes I'm there for a few days, sometimes months depending on what the client feels necessary.
Musicians/performers
Touring within the 'entertainment' industry can be difficult for anyone, for obvious reasons, being on the road for days/weeks/months can be extremely difficult for an individual in recovery. That's where I come in, and I have years of experience in this area too, having traveled all over Europe and the UK as 'wingman' to some major players in the music business. Staying sober on a tour bus or a hotel is not only possible, it's actually enjoyable too, who knew?
